Thought I would take a picture of the uniforms and tunics in my collection for field-grade officers. From left to right, back row first:
Waffenrock of Oberstleutnant Karl Steppan, II/12 Schützen Regiment - an Austrian absorbed into the Wehrmacht post-Anschluss.
Waffenrock of Oberst (later Generalleutnant) Georg Postel in the tunic he wore at the Munich Kriegsakademie.
Geschönte Fledbluse of Oberst Julius Buchert, late of the 13.IR, Stadtkommandant of Mannheim and Ludwigshafen in 1939. His career was derailed by the alcoholism of his wife and he ended the war still an Oberst in commmand of a Sicherheitstregiment.
My sincere thanks to Juan Sanchez for selling this tunic back to me with Buchert's entire military file.
Front row, from left:
Unnamed Geschönte Feldbluse for an unnamed Oberstarzt.
M36 Tunic of Oberst Heinrich Mette of the Versorgungstruppe. He died in Soviet captivity at Reval in 1945.
Reichswehr-style piped tunic of Oberst Gustav Inama von Sternegg, who died in 1944.
Unnamed Geschönte Feldbluse of a Cavalry Oberst who was a DKiG recipient.
Waffenrock of Major Leo Ritter of 80th (mot) Artillery Regiment, holder of both the Italian Crown Order and the Order of the Crown of King Zvonimir.
Geschönte Feldbluse of an unnamed Bauinspektor Official in the rank of Oberst.
