Another photo showing 1 cross and 2 medals. The golden cross is partisan's cross . Awarded to a partisan's (members of Armia Krajowa) that fought with germans during world war 2.On the right of this cross is medal for fighting in Berlin ( awarded for persons who fought from april to 9th may 1945 in 1 Warszawska Dywizja Piechoty , 2 pomorska brygada haubic , 1 samodzielna brygada moździerzy , 6 warszawski batalion pontonowo mostowy or samodzielny batalion szturmowy - names of the units which was participating in fighting for Berlin) and the next medal (that with eagle on the reverse : > ) is an award for the soldiers who fought in polish 1939 defensive war

The highest award is that big white cross with the star. It's polonia restituta 2nd class with the star (communist version but I'm VERY PROUD of it anyway ) .The order itself was in the 5 classes. I have 4 of them ( don't have the grand cross no one of my family didn't get it : > ).That's all .Not collecting polish stuff it's just kind of tribute (really loved my grandfather I was lucky to talk to him and I still love him and appreciate what he teached me and it's the way I can give him a tribute.

It's nice to see that you took the time to display your grandfathers medals. What unit did he serve in?
Try hanging the medals on a match or something similar and then hang it on the pins this way the medals won't sag and the ribbon won't stretch as much.
