No I have no wehrpass or soldbuch as of yet...always searching though. I missed out on a police ID last year and a Heer wehrpass a few months ago on the estand. Just missed them by hours Though I wish sellers would put the names of the holders in their descriptions...makes searching a lot easier.

Hopefully I can get lucky and snag one at the SOS next month.

              My HOLY GRAIL!!!!

Today the prize of my collection arrived from the post office! A Sterbebild and photo album of Heinrich Baumgartner, navigator on a JU-88 killed in action over Athens Greece on April 20, 1941.

A huge thanks to forum member Tora_Tora_Tora! who because of this thread knew I collected Baumgartner items. He was interested in the item which was part of a nice photo album, but he let me have it instead. That is just amazing to me that he did that! I really am so happy I posted my collection here as it led to this amazing find. I will post a few pics and an amazing note at the end!

                  The amazing part

As a shot in the dark I purchased the book AIR WAR FOR YUGOSLAVIA GREECE AND CRETE 1940-1941 by Christopher Shores and Brian Cull because I heard they researched all the claimed losses. So I was hoping to find a JU-88 shot down that day with a rough location of the loss. To my total amazment this is what I found!

I have more pics of the album on my profile page. Thanks

                  Steve

Your words and specially your happiness, Steven, are for me the best thanks that I could receive and you can't imagine how I ma happy too to read that you find a book with additional info about this man and his crew.

This means that Heinrich will continue to be remembered forever and every little effort done by his family to put together the album, picture after picture and tear after tear ,will find a new light into your wonderful passion and collection.

Thanks so much for the heads up on that one. I already have that one...but since the name wasnt in the listing I would never have found it. Come on sellers put the last name in the listing!

I guess you don't have this one yet when I look at your board. I don't have the actual deathcard, but a notification of being burried at Zuylen cemetery in Breda, Holland.

                          name: Baumgartner, Franz; Gefreiter
                          unit: 4/NJG 2.
                          born: 27-3-1920 Nurnberg
died: 17-2-1941 Dorst (close to Breda)

                          cheers,
                          Michiel

Absolutely fantastic in every respect... makes a panzerwrapper with all the bells and whistles or a cased KC look like pitiful in comparison.

                              Wow, what a great collection!

May I ask in what unit the soldier that died in Tunisia served?

                              Many greetings,
