So happy to finally start posting pictures of my displays

Here is part of a named grouping to a Staff Sergeant 82nd Armored Reconnaissance Battalion Company B. I was pretty pumped to pick this up. I still need to do the NARA research. I'd like to know how he wont the bronze stars. The GI also very proudly wears Combat Leadership Strips on almost all of his uniforms and even shirts. He first served in the National Guard from 1926-1930 and then joined the U.S. Army when they went to war as a Corporal (he held onto his National Guard paperwork, but not his Army honorable discharge - at least his nephew could not locate it). I have his Army medical paperwork which provides the above information about his battalion and also indicated that he was treated at the Battle of the Bulge for an eye condition which he lated attempted to obtain disability for, but was refused (a long series of correspondence). A very proud veteran, this individual was an active participant in at the VFW. He brought back some Nazi souvenirs (will eventually show you). So here goes, anyone have any more information on the 82nd Armored Recon. Battalion Company B?

One of the bronze stars is oxidizing big time on the front but the back is still great, both are named. There is a third named not pictured. I'm so happy to finally have these pictures up. I have been refinishing my cabinets for the last year or so (I don't recommend ever taking on a project like this - lots of effort, lots of lead paint dust, and it doesn't ever come out as nice as you want it to) and I'm finally almost done and couldn't help but start to set up my items.

My father bought this photo at a yardsale a few streets over many years ago. I recently found it and I love the way it looks so I put it above my fireplace...

                              New German Items

I haven't updated my collection photos in a few years now. Many, many new goodies, but here are a few I picked up this weekend. I have generally stopped collection German items, but these fell into my lap over the last two weeks.

Let me know what you think:

Nice German Camo Helmet - would blend in well with Rhododendron Plants.

Also, a P35 with the original capture papers, clip, and French Clam Shell Holster. About 90% of the original bluing.
