    My collection in 1981

    Hello folks,
Yesterday my friend Victor brought over some old photos he took many years ago of some of my things. Here is a photo of my 3rd Reich collection in 1981 (that is what is written on the reverse of the picture). At the time I would have been 16 years old. At the time I had a few more badges and I don't remember why I did not place them in the photo.

It just goes to show how far you can come with collecting. BTW, my medal bar had the wrong type of long service medal on it. I had to replace it with a 4 year (I just had to clip it on the reverse).

Most of the stuff in the photos was obtained from veterans in the Phoenix area, or from yard and garage sales.

    Regards,
    Jody

Another view with a KM dirk I paid $15 for. BTW, the DK in Gold is a 5 rivet Juncker.

Very nice display for you, I really like your ribbon with the different spanges on it, as that is what I collect. Jim

        Hi Jim,
Of course those pictures are from 1981. Here is what my strip of spanges now look like.

                Hi Chris,
You are so right. When this photo was taken I was six foot two inches tall and weighed around 145 pounds. Now I am 45, six foot 4 inches tall and weigh 257 pounds. Plus I have grey hairs too. My medals and badges have not aged at all (still as nice as they were the day I got them).

Yet these things are older than I am.

                You're Friend,
                Jody

...But they are as they were and haven't improved with age either as you have mate! Interesting pics!
                  Cheers, Steve
