    Walking stick

Not sure where to post this but let's try here.

A friend of mine got this walking stick as a present from an old lady many years ago.

The inscription on it says: "Nordfront" and "Narwa 1944". We're wondering if it can be related to the Danish volunteers in WSS 11 Nordland as they were in the region in 1944. Also if somebody has seen something like this before?

Full lenght. It's the body of an electric guitar on the far right side.

                      Wolchow walking sticks

                      http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...+walking+stick

It is in the genre known as Wolchow walking sticks, as I was taught here on WAF.
cant say anything about authenticity...not my expertise at all.
But I did ask questions about them before in the thread I supplied.
Sadly, you will see why deleting one's posted photos is now not allowed.

I have seen a few for sale in the last few years...with a seeming surge about 2 years ago on ebay, etc.

I am sure some are authentic.

Im not sure I like this one...

I have a nice one that I feel is original however it is broken...

I will post some pics later this eve.

This one was not made on a lathe...unless it was badly out of balance! I would say 100% original and very typical in both quality and condition of what can be found with these...although far from common.

Much like handmade rugs, the quality of the carving can range quite a bit. Once you have handled a number of originals, I think that it would be fairly hard to fooled with these.

I agree, typical period Wolchow stock of the type popular on the eastern front.
