    Help wanted

    Hey all,

I'm almost done renovating our house so the time has come to start thinking about my warroom/workshop. The room measures 3meters x 4meters and i can only use the walls to put frames on or/and i can make a stand/cupboard and place it against a wall. Centre of the room is reserved for my other hobby, painting.

I'm a bit stuck on how to organize the collection tho, should i make little groupings with a bit of everything from 1branch (ex: a lw helm; a 1st and 2nd lw dagger, a lw buckle etc) or should i make groupings of only helmets, only armbands etc... life's full of imporant choises
It would be very much appreciated if you could post some pictures here of your warroom(s) so i can see the different approaches ppl take on how to organize the room, the colours they use, type of lighting etc. I don't need close-up's of your collection, just a global view from the entire room or sections of it.
If you don't like to post the pictures here, plz feel free to pm me for e-mail.

    Kind Regards,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,

I'm reorganizing my collection too at this moment, so I'm not able to get you pictures of my stuff...
I always used to make little displays with for example a Luftwaffe visor, Luftwaffe cloth insignia, some medals and photo's. Those stuff looks really great together and almost looks like it's been left there by the soldier himself.

You could do the same with Heer, Kriegsmarine etc. You can make them as personal as you wish, and they are great to take nice pictures off!

Only headgear together is a bit boring to me, and doesn't make a nice display, unless you own many of them. So, I would choose to make little displays and put them in a vitrine, or on shelves...

    Good luck with it, cheers,

    Flecktarn

why not draw up a bird's eye view (top view) of the room to scale using rulers or if you're good at a computer software, plot out the room to scale. then starting from the largest objects that you might have, perhaps swords, helmets, mannequins, and so on, decide where to place them in the room - maybe away from the windows, not near the doors or dehumifiers, etc.... then add in your cabinets, perhaps ready made ones...and perhaps where your posters might be etc, you'll soon get the hang of it.

        good luck!
