1st cl. with Swords. Awarded to Majors 514 times during ww1, slightly less than half of those were golden and the rest were silver-gilt.

On the ribbon of the Karl-Friedrich-Medal it was awarded only 556 times. But you can be sure only if you find one on a medal-bar.
