    updated collection...

a while ago i showed my collection and it has grown a bit since then..i am waiting on a Silver PAB that i will add to the DRL Sports Badge grouping....a lot of the items where bought from members on this site, I never thought i would get into collecting as much as i have when i first joined...but i caught the bug...so please forgive my bad photography and enjoy the pictures..the TDB are 1957 issue from Detlev..the cufftitle is a filler....

That is a great original way to display your medals! I hope you don't mind me borrowing that format.

Feel free to use that idea...i got the idea from the Soldat site....they are selling display pockets for $35.00 each..i went on Ebay and bought two whole East German tunics for less than that.......... the extra material left over is also good for lining shadow boxes...gives it a better look for mounting medals and such...

A few years ago there was a pocket with three sets of loops on ebay. I thought to myself that it would be a neat way to display just as Richard has done. The pocket went for more than I cared to spend but the thought has always remained with me. I just could never justify cutting up a orginal tunic for such a display. However, I still think it is a very nice way to display badges! Well done Richard!

              Thanks guys....

i would never cut up an original tunic either...i bought two very cheap East German tunics on Ebay(they are a gray-green, the camera/lighting makes it look more gray)....I'm not a WW2 purist when it comes to Display method....and i don't have any friends that would look at my display from across the room and say.."Hey that's not the correct color for a WW2 German Tunic"...I just think its a unique way to display medals if one can't afford an original jacket to hang medals on...
I think this idea will eventually catch on with some people who don't have a lot of room for full uniforms and such...each frame is only approx 8x10....half off at 'Micheals" for those who have one nearby...

I 'borrowed' the idea from Richard as well for my display.

East German uniforms can be still bought for a good price and although not perfect they can liven up and enhance what is really important....the awards themselves.

I added a pic of the pockets in Riker boxes
