      Here's my latest aquisition... I know it's not strictly a military helmet, but I could not resist purchasing this one, because of the helmet's fine condition and it's rarity... A Saxon Pickelhaube for Militärbeamte...
      That's indicated by the little "extra" shield at the bottom of the Wappen... In this case the little shield is not separate but the wappen and shield are made in one piece. The wappen and shield are fixed with splitpins instead of the normal nuts and bolts.
      This haube was produced by Depaheg Patent...
      The shell is made of vulcan fibre instead of leather...

              Wow man! I started life as an Imperial collector and maintain an interest...I love the Ulanka's and the Braunschweig Peltzmutze!! Thanks for posting...Stunning!

                Can I see a pic of the oval framed photo of the officer holding the dagger?

                Excellent collection and well displayed.

                I have a cabinet photo of a man wearing the helmet with the eagle on top - the photographer is out of Chicago, Illinois, USA. Perhaps a vet who wanted to be photographed after moving to USA? I will have to find it and scan it in to show you to get your opinion!
