I dug out the rest of my Iraq stuff and completed my display, I think I might use a map with graphics for a background though.

Hey HR. Really cool display of your Gulf War items. I take it that you brought these pieces back... eh? Are they from the '91 Gulf War 1 or the GW2?
It will be interesting to see how the collecting interest on these items builds over the next couple of years too. Prices of Iraqi helmets have been climbing on ebay.
As I recall, the military issued orders that our boys where NOT to send anything back from this last go round with the elite Iraqi army. BS PR about not wanting coalition forces to be seen a conquers. Anyway, I saw a photo towards the end of the "Shock & Awe" campaign of all these helmets laying around and in the mix were these really bizaare looking Darth Vader sort of lids. I thought that they were indeed weird, but would love to have one.

All of these items were taken back by me from the recent war (Operation Iraqi Freedom).
I was dumb during desert storm and feared the ominous "custom's inspection".
Well, this time around everybody is to worried about living to see the next day so when the planes come in , they load 'em and send them off. My ruck and duffel were stuffed to the gills!!!!!Comment
