Medal stands for the guys who loves DIY

Hi guys. I've allways had a problem with medal stands that you can buy. They never make provision for ribbons. So I made my own. tell me what you think.....
So you cut the pieces of wood like in the pictures above, drill 2 holes and paste filt (don't know the english word) to it and then make a cut in the front, the same width as the ribbon.....
Then you put the ribbon through the cut in the filt.......
Then you secure it with 2 screws. Don't over tighten the screws or you will compress the ribbon too much.
Then you paste filt to the rest of the wooden parts.....and there you go! If you have a long ribbon it can stick out at the back and it's not in the way! Tell me what you think.

The ribbons that do stick out at the back is anyways way to long. On some of my medals there is only 1 or 2mm that is clamped in place. It's usually the unissued medals that has those extra long ribbons.
What you can do in that case is to use a longer piece of wood and let the medal hang on it's full length of the ribbon and only clamp down 1 or 2 mm.
