    Glider pilots

    Hi Ian,

Thank you, I knew that you would appreciate to see these badges (and especially the Glider one). The quality of the craftmanship on these Junckers is really superb.

Ian, wich new glider aquisition do you have made recently ?

    Cordial greetings,
my collectionfield : German glider pilots

I notice that the piece of parachute silk has "Spitfire pilot nephew of Churchill"
written on it. That's Interesting! Cheers, Chris B.

            Veterans

            Hi,

@ JL: Thank you very much for the comments

@ Chris: Indeed there is mention of the Nephew of Churchill but in howfar is this correct or accurate? i mean => there is a big possibility the Britisch pilot just said this to impress the Germans etc ....

Is there a way to check this story?, Even iff it is not true i would be interested iff it is possible to check the Britisch losses in Africa on that particular day, is this possible?

            Greetings,

What does the number mean? I have on like it and have always wondered what it stood for.
                  Thanks!

                    Numbering on SA Wehrsport badge

                    Hello,

The number stands for the award number of the badge in question => not exactly a rarity with such numbers but nevertheless desirable

                          Afrika Glider pilot

                          Hello,

Thank you guys once again for the nice comments, i have asked my friend iff he has somwhere a picture of him in full award dress but during my visits I never seen such a picture.

Anyway here is there reverse scan from the Iron cross 1 e Class and the ribbon bar for the 2 nd. class, notice the brass backing on the ribbon .

As some of you might notice : the Iron cross has the soldiers name engraved on teh reverse => it is done in a rather handwriting style and rather sloppy but genuine !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully more to show real soon

                          Cordial greetings,

                              The reverse

                              Hello,

And here as many times requested => the reverse of the superior Buntmetal C.E.Juncker Glider pilots badge.

The C catch has been bent over during the years, i wont touch it however as the chance does exist that the badge (or catch) could be damaged by this and after all this is the way this extreme rarity did reach me

                              Cordial greetings,
