Greetings - just an odd question, but one that needs an answer!

I picked up a real nice Luft NCO tunic, my first, but it doesn't fit on my semi-modern clothes dummey....what type/size mannequin should I search for ?

Another sad detail, I can't decipher the size, but I would say likely around a US 38? Would I be better off looking for a kid sized mannequin?

surely others have faced this issue?

Ardennes, it can be tough sometimes to find one. However, most modern mannequins are US38 in size, I think. So, it must be smaller. If you look at the numbers in the tunic, they should be in an order looking like an "H". The cross bar is the chest size. Take it, divide it by 2.54 and you'll have roughly the chest size.

Hi Ardennes -

If you can find a "young adult" mannequin or dress form, that might work the best. Another option is to find one that can be "cut down"" to a workable size. I've done that with one of the dress forms I have, but it will definiteluy hurt the resale...

Check out http://www.websterdisplays.com for their torso forms. They're made out of styrofoam and if they're too large, you can shave them down with a knife. They are cheap and work great.

I agree with Genes suggestion about www.websterdisplays.com. Their mannequins are made primarily for the older military uniforms so they are smaller than the modern day mannequins. He also has options for adding on to them if you like. I had the same challenge on two of my tunics and the Webster mannequins worked great. The owner is a great guy to deal with too.

I also have 6 of the Webster mannequin forms. The only thing that you might consider doing is covering them with an old cotton T shirt when you get them in as they are styrofoam.

If you have access to a table saw, cutting a mannequin down is not difficult at all (if you have the right type). I've had to perform surgery on most of mine.

A friend of me had another problem in finding the correct mannequin. The problem with the most of the modern male mannequins is, that they have some kind of "gay" face/looking
It was the most difficult task to find one with a real "Landser-Gesicht".
