The Grandfather passed away years ago. And all we know was he was in the war. My stepson received his Grandfather's items when his father passed away about 3 or 4 years ago. When my stepson was going through his father's belongs after his death. He found the patches with the German money & pictures. He could'nt find the SS dagger !!! It was found in a safety deposit box. All we really know is that the grouping of patches was with the other items that belong to his grandfather. He probibly collected the patches postwar. It's also possible one the grandfather's sons collected the patches in the 50's when they were kids. Joe
