    Aussie display

Hey guys here's most of my WW2 Australian army collection. I have been collecting for around four years. I am a poor uni student but once I finish up and have some coin; I will buy cabinets etc. I hope you enjoy my interim display.

here's some tunics hanging on a wall. The wall colour and lighting in this room don't really give the opportunity for good pics and don't do the tunics and pennants justice.

here's a closeup of the pictures. The ones in the long frames are picture postcards are unique indeed. From what I can gather; all these diggers were PoW's and interned by the Germans in Breslau. They're all wearing british battledress so I think these pictures were maybe taken upon their liberation? From what I have read the men had their original uniforms taken and these may be the replacements?

In any case they were all PoW's and they wrote their addresses on the back of the cards and addressed them to Stan, who was a Kiwi PoW. He took them back to New Zealand with him and I am thinking he used these to keep in contact with them. I have some others from the batch from other parts of the Commonwealth such as Africa and Britain.

The picture in the middle is a signed photo of the 2/3rd Motor Ambulance convoy, Tasmanian section. Unfortunately they were all captured in the fall of Singapore and perished. It reminds me as to why I collect.

A very nice display Chris. I'm disappointed about missing your spot on collectors, I was waiting to catch a plane from Adelaide to Canberra at the time. There was a repeat tonight but I also missed that unfortunately. Perhaps when you have a bigger spot I'll get to see it.

        Take care

thanks, mate. It's all good it was only a very short segment. I have just filmed a 3 minute segment that should air sometime soonish. I am thinking perhaps remembrance day? I will let you know anyway.

Nice work mate... I have a soft spot for the diggers myself being Aussie!!

I'm pretty much 100% Nazi Germany collector BUT I would love a WW1 period Gallipoli uniform done up to the tits... Haven't researched it enough yet as I still have so much to learn with the German stuff. Keep em coming!!!

Great collection. I enjoyed seeing your Australian militaria. "Slouch hats" are indeed unique, iconic, and interesting. Hope to have at least one in my collection someday. Thanks for sharing. Zach
