Diamond division display

All items brought back by my grandfather who passed away in 1997. I just got the items into a display case. A few things like a German Death card he brought home and a news paper cut out of Patton with clear tape to keep it in good condition could not be added as you can see, no more room.

Lambert was in the 5th infantry divsion assigned to division HQ. He drovethe brass in a jeep, cooked, other odds and ends and fought in the battle of the bulge with his M1 Gurand. Not sure what his exact job was.

No militaria was harmed in the building of this display. Some of the Stamps have duplicates under them. There is the same arm band under the one you can see.

One other little suggestion, figure out a way to get rid of the paperclip. Paperclips and documents are not friends. Yours looks like its coated with something to make it a little more rust resistant but it kind of draws attention away from the other period items.

Well I thought the paper clip would be better then putting tape on the back and hot gluing it to the felt board. Not sure how to make it work with Gravity as it is. Any suggestions? Grand dad placed clear tape over the news paper entries. I put tape on the insignia before hot gluing them in place. Used some nylon web to hang some of the other stuff and hot glued the nylon.

Well, you could take a couple of small brass nails and tack them down along the bottom and side of the booklet to hold it in place....the document can just rest on them without putting any stress on the paper. An alternative that's a little more secure is use little "L" shaped pins (or even bend some straight pins with needle nose pliers), you could get away with just a couple of those on the bottom and if needed, one at the top. It'll hold the papers fairly loosely but also securely. A final alternative is to get some of those photograph holders you find in old scrapbooks (the type where the corner slips into the holder and the holder is glued into the scrapbook). The benefit is that they can really compliment the "period" look of the object.
