    The compass works somewhat. The liquid level inside of it is low, so you have to tilt it so it can spin freely.

    First off tonight, a collection of US Army hats that were near the bottom of the trunk and have been flattened.

                  Last one for tonight. Thought we needed to end with a German item since that is the reason for this forum. Mixed in with the pictures was a nice German Army Officer dagger.

                    Wow! You are very lucky to get such amazing items! Did I see some German press photos rolled up in one of the photos? Is it possible to see the front and backs of the photos? I collect press photos and am always interested in seeing what is out there. I can't wait to see the rest of what is in the trunk. Thanks for sharing!

                      No they are not German press photos. They are my grandfather's class photo's from artillery and officer's school. Unfortunately the backs of the photo just have the year it was taken.

                      Tonight more photos- let me know if you guys get tired of this stuff.
