        U-boat Collection

        Hi David,
        I also collect KM items and my specialty is U-boat things. Great stuff and I love the early U-boat document in your collection. You have some top notch stuff.

            I have seen U-154 in your photo album, I have a photo of one crew member of this U-Boot (Heinz Kuklman).

            Have you the U-Boot number for the other docs ?

              Karl Kobusch born 21.05.1921 killed 03.07.1944
              Served on U 506 from 15.9.1941 till 18.11.1942
              made 3 patrols on U506
              1st no ships sunk
              2nd 11 ships sunk (55.600 BRT) got the EK2 and Ubootskriegsabz.
              3rd 5 ships sunk + saving people from the Laconia

              Served on U 154 from 23.07.1943 till 03.07.1944
              made 4 patrols on U154
              1st no ships sunk
              2nd no ships sunk
              3rd no ships sunk, attacked a tanker, but missed, Uboot was himself under attack from a destroyer. Got the EK1
              4rd no ships sunk Uboot got sunk on 03.07.1944 by the US destroyer Inch and Frost by depthcharges.

              Kurt Grunau born 02.08.1922
              served on U 226 from 25.09.1942 till 01.10.1943
              made 3 patrols on U226
              1st no ships sunk
              2nd 1 ship sunk
              3rd no ships sunk

              served on U228 from 02.10.1943 till 05.10.1944
              made 4 patrols on U228
              not one ship sunk

              Michel, I've checked the list of crewmembers of U154 who died on 03.07.1944, and your man Heinz Kuklmann (our Heinz Kuhlmann) is not on it.

                Albert Mirwald, served only on U704.
                Made 3 war patrols, but no known ships were sunk, but I have in my collection this photo from U704 with a victimflag for 5000 BRT? Does anyone has some more info on this Uboot?

                  Heinz Kuhlmann go to Kiel the 12 mai 1944, he is not on board when the U-154 is sunk.
