    Splinter Set

Took me several years (6!) to find the right jacket, but mission accomplished! I've had the pants for a while and have been searching for the right jacket, to match the condition of the pants, which are unissued/mint, jacket is as well! Colors are strong and vibrant, and the jacket has several camo runs used in it! Jacket in nonreversible, the pants are reversible to white, and include suspenders, I have a second set of pants which are like the jacket, non reversible, with the paper issue tag as well, mittens and toque!

Jacket still has thread where issue tag was, but removed, jacket also came with photocopy of the capture papers, which are interesting. Personally I like the tan/water colors better, but splinter is my next favorite, and increasingly hard to find in this condition.

Crispy mint! Congrats, I know how hard it is to find items that match in condition. But it looks like it was worth the six year queste...

Could I see some pictures of the stamps?

        Kind regards,
        Vincent S.

Thanks for the kind words, I'll take some pics of the stampings, doyou want pics of the jacket and pants stampings or just jacket? They are pretty standard markings, but in the right place and how they should look. Yes, the splinter stuff is getting very tough, tan/water in mint to salty comes up quite often, the splinter stuff just does not, and even less so in unissued/mint. I have seen several wonderful dutch collections (and in Belgium) full of them, so perhaps thats where most have been hiding! This jacket and other items came from the vets family to the best of my knowlegge with the capture papers.

Thanks everyone, I really wasnt trying to get the colors to match, just the condition of the pieces, the fact that most of the jacket is of fairly the same darker hue is great, although, I do always like camo items that are made out of differrent runs of the same fabric, so that you can see the mismatched fabric bolts. I have a tan/water set that is unissued that has interior pocket linings in splinter, these details I always enjoy.

THAT IS THE HARDER TYPE TO COME BY,YOU'D THINK WITH ALL THE TENT QUARTERS AROUND THAT IT WOULD BE EASIER TO COME BY THIS TYPE BUT NOT THE CASE. I HAVE A MINTY TYPE JACKET AND SAME AS YOU LOOKING FOR A PAIR OF PANTS. MINE ARE THE REVERSIBLE TO WHITE. THAT SET WOULD LOOK GOOD ON A MANNEQUIN!

Thanks! Yes, you see so many photos of the splinter type in wear, you would think they would be more available, I can only imagine that since the splinter set was earlier in production, maybe those got chewed up in Russia in greater quantities than the tan/water examples. I have a pair of splinter pants that are unissued reversible to white, but no reversible jacket. I owned a complete set about 6 years ago which Isold, and did regret it, I've not since seen for sale a reversible splinter jacket that was in the condition I collect, the nonreversible are a possibly a bit easier to find. II paid a pretty ridiculous price for my reversible pants quite some time ago, but just knew in unissued condition they are not out there.
