This is from the Arbeits book what does Luftrage mean, I saw Goring on the second page of the book put 2 & 2 together and came up with 9, it being the street

    Any ideas?

      Marcus-
Yes everyone did some type of Labor Service before entering the Armed Forces or some other type of State Service.

Here's the the best I can do on these 2 booklets, I'm sure anyone with better info will fill in what I don't know.

Your first book is not RAD but rather DAF (German Work Front), which basically was a consolidation by the NSDAP, under Dr. Robert Ley, of all the exsisting unions & trade craftamen that exsisted prior to 1933.

This book looks to be a membership booklet & the stamps are dues stamps.

Your other book is a work ID booklet which contained your personal info, work history, etc. This booklet was basically for civilian personel & it's my understanding that you would have to show this at check points, factories, for rations, etc. Basically one of several ways for them to track you & know who was where doing what.

I believe the word in your last photo is Auftrage (not Luftrage) which means "order".

Hope this can be of some help. If I come up w/anything else I'll let you know.
      Regards,
      Chris

Thanks Yancy. Yes I love collecting RAD stuff.
It seems to me that it's one of the overlooked areas of Third Reich collecting, making it a little more easy on the wallet.

Here are a few more photos of the pole top.

Made of aluminum, it has the designers mark "PC" on one side of the base & a very worn makers mark & RAD control mark on the other.

You can barely make out the makers logo in this one. Aluminum being as soft as it is, it's worn down over the years, but it looks like the maker is "Gebitder Cosak".....

Yeah, I'm definitely picking up a standard when I come across one at the right price.
