    A Young Collector's Modest Collection

    Achtung Kameraden!

Since my Monday is my 19th birthday, I thought this would be as good a time as any to share my modest collection with the WAF community. I have been collecting miltaria for about 2 1/2 years now.

    Overall view of my collection

    Medals and Helmets

Helmets I have are 2 Soviet M40s with postwar Czech liners, Ex-South African Israeli Brodie, 3 American M1s (vet purchased rear seam with net, a stainless steel rear seam, and a front seam), 2 German helmets (Black Czech NS62 with a paper decal and a Chinese ET68 "Edelweiss" repo), and an American Civil Defense Helmet (not pictured.)

    Medals
All of the WWII Iron Crosses are repos. The Siver and Gold Wound Badges are paper cut-outs, representing what I still need to get.

    Cloth Insignia

    Rifles
    Finnish-Captured M1891/30 Mosin-Nagant
    Mannlicher-Berthier M1892/16 Carbine
"Peddle Scheme" 1918 Short Magazine Lee-Enfield
    Mauser Kar98k "dot 1944"
All of these have their own seperate thread that I have posted in the past.

    NVA-Wachregiment NCO Tunic

Repo M43 mit Gebirgjager Edelweiss, 1st Generation Rubber Bullets from the Frankford Arsenal, Philadelphia, PA, "Dropped" Confederate Minie-Ball from the Gettysburg Battlefield, Fragment of wood from the USS Constallation.

My Dad's Dogtags and National Defence Service Medal from his service on the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) May 1972- April 1975
Cancer cruely took him away from me in March of 2006.
He was only 52 years old.

Granted, my collection isn't nearly as big or as nice as most that you see here on the WAF, but it has been growing steadily and getting nicer. Thanks go out to fellow forum member Kondor, my mentor and friend, whose assistance contributed to the acquisition of several of the items in this collection.

        Thanks for the compliments!

By the way, I'm aware that my M42 helmet should be feldgrau, not black. I've been meaning to repaint both of my German helmets to get them to look a little more authentic, the problem is finding the time!

You should strip your M42, who knows what you may find.

Yes, I still have to do that, but I doubt that I will find anything. There's always a chance though.

I got a decent amount of cash for my birthday, so hopefully I will be getting a real 1939 EK2 soon.

Well, a year has passed since I originally started this thread. Today is my 20th (Golden) birthday, and I thought that I'd update this thread with the stuff that I have gotten this past year.

1939 Silver Wound Badge- Klein and Quenzer (mm65)

1914 Zeiss 8X Turact Binoculars- Named to a "Lt. R Dehmel"

More stuff to come, just have to get around to taking the pics...

Nice collection, to bad about the fakes, but I hope it will be better next year

@T. Pasqueralle, I know loads of younger collectors who have the will to collect
20 isn't that young to 'start'.

I like your rifles, to bad the berthier is stripped, probably for hunting purposes.
I suggest you dump those german helmets and ek's in the tresh or at least put them in a box in the basement.

                        I have a big allergy for fake's en repro's

Your newest aditions are very nice by the way.
