I have been a member of this forum here almost three years soon now
. Time is flying.
When I started to collect, first year at least was the period, when I wanted to understand myself, what I like most... because that I start looking first TR and Soviet stuff, also a little pit Finnish. Then as well imperial Germany awards, what catch my attention because stunning jeweler work and enamel work.
Then the last two years was the period when I tried to focus more. First Soviet part went over the board. Then TR medals .... then my hardest decision - I stop collecting TR war badges and imperial Germany single awards. I fell in love with the imperial period medal bars and as extra, I love ribbon bars as well... Early this year, I finally understood more and more, what areas I like most - I still love every kind different countries awards and also research and understand some political situations better in the early 20th century. Because there is way too many medal bars and different combinations of every kind a state from Germany - now my main interest is - Imperial Germany medal bars with some foreign award(s).
Next very important area for me now is also ribbon bars. They area quit easy to collect, they are not priced too bad and same time give opportunity to learn and try to ID the owners or just understand the owner career, etc. So, I am collecting as well ribbon bars with at least one imperial Germany award on it.
