My New US Civil War Display

    Greetings Gents,

Some of you might see this over in Die Kneipe, but I wanted to post it here as well.

I purchased something today that I have wanted for a very long long time and has now become the center piece for my US Civil War display. My wife had no idea about this, so you can imagine that when she came home and went into my collecting room where we also keep the computer, she had a bit of a shock...

Interested in candid/private Hitler, KIA, and Holocaust photos. Also any AH related memorabilia--silverware, linen, crystal, china...
    All the best,
    Chris

I had to have help from some friends to disassemble the whole thing outside, bring it into the room in pieces, and then put it back together inside.

Once my buds and I got the cannon set up like I wanted it, I pulled out some of my old reenacting gear from storage that I hadn't sold off from years ago when I left that hobby and put it around to create a display. I'm not sure if I'll leave it that way or not, it looks sort of crowded, but we'll see. The cannon has been here less than a day, so I'll take some opinions as friends stop in to see it and keep looking at it from different sides, making adjustments to the display, and eventually get it just right.

Anyway, I don't know about you guys, but from the time I was a kid, there were three things that I always thought had an almost mystical quality about them: Civil War Cannons, Machine Guns, and Suits of Armor. I have the cannon now, the MG-34 is in the mail, so I just have to track down a good suit of armor to display somewhere.

            Best,

Chris, now this is impressive and I had a good laugh when I read your post regarding the cannon in the Kneipe. Jacques

wow, briliant minds do think alike! I also was (and still am) a lover of machine guns, suits of armor and cannons/catapults. must be something about the 3 that stick out in a mans heart. nice display. Glenn
