    WW1 German Trench Body Armour

My latest score, originally stored under a Auckland house in a sack for many years. I think it was laquered at some point also has spots of white paint drops.

A nice original and pretty much unmessed with N.Z vet bought back item.

Very nice find. It's great to see that the original straps are still present.

                          Well done Mike.
Nice to get something like this that might have been bought back by a Kiwi vet. Is there any sign of maker markings on the inner face of each plate ? I've seen several chest plates for sale over the years, mostly with 303 bullet holes through them. I know of 3 other complete sets locally, 2 in private collections ( including my own ) & another in a small country museum. When I get a chance I'll post a few more photo's of mine.

                          Cheers
                          Mike

                            Mike

What an outstanding display, I am keen on the T configuration for your armour and helmet. Not really into mannequins, if you know what I mean. Look forward to more pictures.

                            regards

                            Mike
