how to display ribbion bars??

well iv quiet a few of the old ribbion bars now so whats the best way to display them? anyone do anything intresting? what type of backing did you use?

This is how I display them. I buy shadow box frame at the arts and crafts store in my area(Michaels) and it costs around $20. These have wood inserts with black fabric on them. I then buy acid free black construction paper and velcro. I cut a small piece of paper and fold it over and staple a piece of velroc to it's reverse. I slip the medal or ribbon bar pin through the upper folded slot in the paper(it will not shift since there is a staple in the paper holding the velcro on) and now the bar will stick to the fabric of the frame I bought. This is how I display my things.

Here is a picture of the final product and these things will now stick to anything backed in coarse fabric.

Or...

What i have done with some of my ribbon bars is sew loops onto a piece of grey wool and attach them to that. Then put the wool sheet inside a protective plastic cover. Of course, the previous suggestion is much more attractive.

You could always take the grey wool, stretch it over a piece of acid-free backing, and then mount it in a shadowbox frame. I like the idea of mounting it on an "appropriate" fabric..
