    Anyone Disblay MG belts?

I have some MG belts in different configurations that I would like to display. Just wondered if anyone had pics on how they displayed MG belts.

Also I am looking for 7.92 disintegrating links to use for my Luftwaffe configuration of High-velocity smk, pmk and b-patrone. If anyone has some and would consider selling let me know.

That is pretty cool. You should have a belt hanging out of the MG42. Is that MG42 non-operational?

Here's one in my bunker. It kinda makes using the printer a bit of a challenge though. I guess it's time to break out the MG 34 again!

                Doug:
I've fired an MG 34 and these are definitely not disintegrating nor are they for many belt fed machineguns. We re-use the links over and over at my gun club.

Here are a few shots of a short belt of Gurt 17/81 disintegrating 7.92mm links and original aircraft ammo that I obtained from a WWII U.S. Army Air Corps veteran (a P-51 pilot). The vet has a belt of about 30 rounds of Gurt 17/81 with the aircraft ammo that he picked up at a former LW base in Germany where his squadron was based at war's end. He removed a small portion of the belt (seen here) and gave it to me, with a promise that I can have the balance at a later date.

Not to hijack the thread, but can anyone ID the following MG belt? Several of these belts were sold to me as non-disintegrating versions of the WWII Gurt 17/81.

The belt appears to be German and for 7.92 (or approximate) caliber ammo. Maybe this is a post-war MG3 belt?
