Here are a couple of closeups. This grouping was found for me by Robert Noss, and Detlev helped me get it from the individual in Germany (I dont speak German, he didnt speak English) Thanks to these two great individuals, I now have this set.

The set is to Father Schmidt, Division Chaplain to the 299th ID. In includes two photo albums, Russian front/KVK I/II award docs, uniform, visor, and crusher.

The photos detail Father Schmidt through training, Poland, and Russia.

Crusher--the crusher has some hand sewing to the insignia. This appears to have been repaired/replaced. The eagle and wreath have matching thread, where the cross I think is still on the "original" thread. This could have been period done, as the hat looks like it was run over by a truck, and 50% of the pictures of Father Schmidt show him wearing this hat (Russia)

The cross is attached properly to the hat, and is finely woven. I am not going to go into more detail, but if you want shoot me a PM I have seen 3 repro crosses sell as originals in the last two years

finally getting close to finishing the room!

I was able after a few months to update my room from the first photo to this here. Thanks to everyone for all the advice! I was finally able to remove all the vine wallpaper along with the lime green paint! I think the white goes better!

death cards to Chaplains. two are for actual chaplains, while the others are for chaplains serving as medics during the war. The one on the far right is for a Chaplain who helped with the war wounded in the Franco-Prussian War

the bottom shelf is a Catholic song book with the owner's photo (Robert Noss Collection--he was kind enough to give me a scan ) on top of a Kiaser Wilhem Bible for the Armed Forces from WWI

To the left of that group is a Hungarian Preist's grouping--the photo is a wedding party of Hungarian Air Force officers

Other side of the room, Named Catholic American Father's uniform set. He served in WWI and WWII (pacific) and I was lucky enough my good friend Bill Dienna contacted me when he found it. Thanks Bill!

The flags are actually German -- but they look good

newest items--was really happy to find these
Cross for the visor cap, and a cross for the overseas cap which came right off a cap (that the owner decided was too moth eaten and threw away )

Austrian Chaplain's Merit Cross ribbon (thanks Rick L!)
