ARP(Air Raid Precaution) & Home Front Bits & Bobs

    Hello Everyone!
I thought i'd show a few bits and pieces of my ARP and Home Front collection.Alittle small at the moment, but i'm getting there!
Some of these bits and pieces arrived this morning(thanks Ian!)
    Kind regards,
    Andy.
Civil helmet, marked SFP,(Street Fire Point?),used by fire watchers, had a bit of a bang to the top,(falling masonry?)I like to think so!

                            Hey Andy,

Well done, cracking start you need a red bucket and an ARP bell now oh and a siren. You must be chuffed my friend, the police hemet I'd be interested how you could tell the difference between docks and beat old Bill helmets surely they were the same ?

Nice condition gas mask whats the date on it, you need a civi one now too. And those cheeky badges '4', how do you tell male and female variations please.

Well done mate, back in the game with a cracking start.

                            Kind regards,

                            Marcus

Thanks for the kind comments Marcus!
Actually, there are another 3 badges, a mimiature badge and an ARP button.
I have a civilian gas mask(at least I think it is!) too.
Apparently the ordinary police had black helmets and the docks police had blue.
The male badges are buttonhole badges, while the female ones have pins on the reverse.
Funny you should mention the bell,I saw one at Pudsey and i'm hoping that the dealer will still have it at Durham next month!
The date on the mask and the bag is 1941,really good condition, except some dozy ***!!!!%%%$$$££ wrote his name in permanent marker on the insides of all the pocket flaps!
                              Kind regards,
                              Andy
