    Hello Eric

You're correct about the documents. One is signed by Dietrich Kraiss and the other by Kurt Chill

Ludwig Dangl probably earned the ek2 during the fightings in Belgium/Holland around september 1944.

The 3rd kompanie in which he was, was equiped with stugs.

    regards Erwin

Here 2 pictures from the same stug taken out on 17 september 1944 in Valkenswaard, during the heavy battle that day. The stug was destroyed at a farm called Odilia Hoeve and is also mentioned in Karel Margry's book "Market Garden, Then and Now. I also got the axe from this tank.

I'm convinced it belongs to Schw Pz Jag Abt 559 because this was the only unit with stugs in this area. A few days earlier they fought in Lommel. A few miles away from Valkenswaard.

The Stabartz from this unit was captured with a halftrack in Valkenswaard. The halftrack was used by the local resistance group.

The Odilia Hoeve was destroyed during the fightings and rebuild on a different angle after the war. The farmer family were hidding in a shelter during the fightings

              i hope you like it

              Regards Erwin

On this picture the whole family is photographed. It looks like it are 2 pictures in one. The stug can be seen on the background

                  Great Work!

Great collection Erwin! Keep up the good work.

Collecting theme related is very rewarding in my opinion.

In case I come across some 559 items I will let you know.

Thanks for the nice comments Steve, Sturmkreuz and Meindert

Here are 3 different deathcards from victims who died on 11 september 1944 in Lommel Barrier (belgium) when a panzer from 559 drove over their shelter. Sad tragedy and most people are relatives from each other.

                              Regards Erwin

Today a new item arrived. Thanks to the help from forummember Gepruft. It is a dogtag from P559 when it was named Pz Abwehr Abteilung 559 (+/- 1940). It is from a member from the third kompanie.

                                Regards Erwin
