    The Japanese in my collection

I was asked on a another forum to post my Japanese collection. However till lately the weather has been somewhat uncooperative for taking photo's outside. So I took advantage today.

So this is what I have at this point, Mostly what is missing are the more expensive or hard to find items. I hope you enjoy.
My war medals. I am missing the "book end" medals. The "1874 Formosa Expedition War Medal", and the "1941-45 Great East Asia War Medal". Someday I will get them.

My one and only Golden Kite. My case just fell apart in my hands today, I am trying to glue it back together, but I fear it might be a bit of a lost cause.

      Japanese Red Cross

I need the Gold and Silver Merit medal and there are also 2 corporate medals in the set, as well as the womens basic membership medal. The middle womans medal is from the 1904 Sino/Russian war with a non regulation label bow attached to it.

        Sacred Treasure.
The 6th and 5th class have no rivets on the back and are post war, The 4th class is a Meiji era medal with a somewhat ratty case.

This is the full set. Many thanks are owed to Paul (P L Murphy) and Johnny Loftgren (Ebay ID Gunjinantiques) for helping me complete the set with some of their personal pieces. The Sake cup is for the Aikoku Fujinkai

                  Very nice!

I may be biased but seeing a collection like this makes one realize how much more interesting and better looking than that nazi junk Even more so since it wasn't passed out like candy!

Thanks guys I always liked the way the ribbons seem to shimmer, I wonder how they get that in the weave of the ribbons? I still like my Ek's and KvK's though.
