Very nice reference!! I have a L&SL41 and a FWBN43, both named. Did WL used blaugrau mess kits? Thanks in advance,

well, as far as I can notice among those I was able to look at, it seems that the LW di not use a special color for its mess-kit

so I can believe that the product was the same for HEER, LW, KM and also waffen SS

the grey color was used on early product : I have 2 from 1934 et 1936, but then the color was replaced by black and green at the beginning of the war

              best regards

After some search, I can say that there were an US prisonner camp for german at Iggelheim (Palatinat) from April to June 1945

the owner of the mess kit was from the HEER

and I hope to be able , soon, to present a picture of him...

                        to be continued

                            my last found for 2008

                            an aluminium dated 1943

at this year, mess kit are quite seldom compared to those made of steel

the only difference with another aluminium from 1933-1941 period is the lack of the 3 ration/soup marks

                            matching SMM43

the owner put his initials HK several times

                            regards

I am mainly a war badge collector, but I really enjoy this collection of mess kits! The BSW41 is very interesting to me in that this company Bruder Schneider Wein is also one of the more common producers of war badges, and many are marked with the BSW in cloverleaf mark.
                              Cheers,
                              Brian
