    Hello there,

I hope that when you say "old" you mean the age of the groupings being together and not that you sold it, hence being "old and sold"

I never went to the original Maxwell street sales but my father often talked about going there and he took me to the new location in Chicago.

Very interesting story and great items; you should be proud to have these items in your possession.

    Thanks for sharing.

Hi William. Yes, I still have everything you see here.

I hate to admit but several pieces "disappeared" when I was away at college in '73 or '74. I used to have 3 Reichsleiter tabs, a brown shirt that I guess might have been an SA shirt.(?) It was plain, with no piping or tabs.
I also had a box that an award came in. It was probably 16" X 8" or 10", dark red or maroon with a silver embossed eagle on the top. It had a fuzzy lining and a cut out area that something fit down into. The cutout was at an angle like the prop on the back of a picture frame. The picture below is of Tom Whittman and his collection. You can see the red box on the cabinet he is pointing to. That is almost exactly the same box! Also, an 8X10 pic of Buch and 3 other SS officers disappeared from the album. I blame friends of my younger brother, but no proof of course. I think he showed them the stuff and they snatched it at some later time.

          Hello,

Is that for the Knight's Cross formal document or perhaps the Eagle Order?

William, as far as I know Buch never received either of those awards. I have no idea what the box was for. I remember it was slightly smaller than the photo album as it would not quite fit inside. It must have been just right for carrying away my photo and collar tab, though.

Jody, thanks a bunch. I've enjoyed looking at the beauties you've posted over the last year as well. I've gotten so much from this forum since I've joined I figured it was my turn to share. Ammersee

It's groups like these with the personal history behind them that make this hobby so enjoyable. What a nice collection and a wonderful tie to your family.

Great stuff, Gary! I believe our own Jeff Clark has both of Buchs Parteigericht tabs--you should post this in the Political Uniforms forum--they would love to see it.
