not small : MICRO size collection

Well boys and girls, here's what I call my collection. For you, it may seem pathetic ; well, we have to start from somewere and even you guys started your collections somewere like this.

So, it's a bit hard to collect WWII items while I'm 25 year old, study, work to pay university, car, mobile, apartment rental and take g/f out to dinner :-) phewww. So that's why my collection is scarce but is loved :-)

That's why sometimes I post here almost panic threads asking "is this real ? fake ?! yes no!?" because it costs me dearly to pay the pieces :-) my L/11 cased EK is my pride and joy but hopefully my bell & whistles WaffenSS armband is en route. oh well, let's hope :-)

Almost forgot with all this mambojambo talk , the picture :

So think again when you post a thread with the title "HUMBLE COLLECTION" , ok ?:-)

Oh.. users that are looking foward to sell good condition PAB's, IAB's, EASTmedals and such, cheap price but no fakes, email me :-)

    Best regards,

    Goncalo Proenca

Great collection. I remember when my collection was smaller than yours and that wasn't to long ago. Very nice EK's!!

We all have to start somewhere.

Great collection, I remember when all I had was a rusted German helmet and a book on Hitler
But soon yours will grow to a HUGE collection!

But hey, we all have to start somewhere. Great collection

            Goncalo,

Rather it be small and original than large and dubious, thats a good start indeed.

With out sounding like a salesman, can I suggest that you consider to join the Association Members. On the e-stand you will find genuine medals and awards at low cost in excellent condition.

I'm not sure of the rules but I think you can only buy from there as a Asso. Member.

            Kind regards,

            Marcus

Yes this is very true, example my collection,
Back Then I only had Book on Hitler, a rusted helmet, a repo HJ armband, and a repo SA dagger.

Marcus, dont confuse our new friend, anyone can buy from e-stand. Sellers have to be Association members. Marcus is absolutely right to suggest that you become a member, its only $20 a year and its a chance for you to support the site.

Goncalo, thats a very nice collection. You cover all the basics, 1914 EK, 1939 EK2 and even a cased EK1. I am sure you'll double or triple it in no time, with all the wealth of information available here.

That's a great start... I started with a black wound badge and then a silver infantry assault badge. If I remember correctly it took me several years to get to an uncased EK1!

no one can ever comment negatively on a quality collection...quantity means nothing over time.

Every one of us - even those who have had the collection take on a life of it's own - started with one piece. Collecting isn't a contest, just a hobby. No matter what, some one else will always have more.

                              Very nice!

No problem Goncalo; Just keep those medals next to each other and they will start to multiply all by themselves!

Up until about 6 weeks ago, all I had was a postcard and two coins. Then, I bought a couple bayonets at an antique shop- Now look what I have

                              (bayonets not in pic)

And I've done it on a budget; I have about $500 in what I have now. I also sold some extras from my other hobbies to "populate" this one (I also collect Hot Wheels and slot cars), so I'm not taking away from my "house" money.
