LAH documents and photo collection / update

My collection has grown a little in the meantime.

    It's heart are certainly the

    a) Theodor "Teddy" Wisch (Kdr. 1st SS Pz.-Div. / KC with swords) and
    b) Günther Borchers (UStuf. Pz. Rgt. 1 LSSAH)

    groups.

But also some other items like early "Panzermeyer" signed documents from his time as Kp.-Chef of the LAH antitank gun Kompanie.

Furthermore I felt very fortunate to run into some very, very early Berlin-Zossen photos lately, which came from the estate of one of the first 117 volunteers of the LAH!

I now count approx. 600 LAH related photos....

                      Hi Markus,

That is a truly amazing and fantastic collection! Do you have anything in there pertaining to any soldiers of schwere SS-PanzerAbteilung 101/501, the Tiger battalion? I see the photo in post #2 that has Peiper and von Westernhagen, while von Westernhagen was SturmgeschützAbteilung commander; who signed that photo?

                      Best,
                      Greg

                        LAH Standarte and Cufftitle

                        Hi Ibrahim,

Here the scan you were asking for.

Yes, interesting cufftitle there. It was worn by Günther Borchers until Feb. 28th, 1942, when a rifle shot went right through his cuff and hit his comrade. The "X"-cross marks the bullet hole.

Borchers describes the day and incident in his diary. At 22:00 he was crossing a street in Urizk (near Leningrad) when he suddenly felt a strong blow to his arm and heard his comrade Kurt Flehming scream. All the sudden he also felt the pain....

Borchers cut the title to a few centimeters unfortunately and glued it into the album, but still a nice piece of history!

                          Hello Greg,
Thank you for your kind comment. No, I unfortunately have nothing pertaining to any soldiers of that unit. I would love to. I saw you Pz.Kampf.Abz. doc lately and fell in love with it immediately. I would die for having original Tiger photos of that unit as well. Borchers photo album includes photos of LAH and HJ-Div. armor at the battle of Kursk and Hungary/Austria, but unfortunately no Tigers either. Do you?
The "Jochen und Hein" photo is not signed.
