    Albert Speer Silverware

Here are three pieces of Albert Speer's silverware that I purchased this week. They were taken from Speer's home on the Obersalzberg by Sgt. Tom Brady from NJ.The person that I purchased these from has pictures of Sgt. Brady in Hitler's bathtub. He was not able to bring the bathtub back but he did get it out of the Berghof. Sgt. Brady also brought back a piece of Hitler's bed which is in the personal collection of the person that I bought these from. Mike

Heres the reverse where the monograms are. It's interesting to me that Speer chose the reverse side where the monogram is not as evident.

Albert Speer's home on the Obersalzberg from which this silverware was taken. Speer's home was not bombed as most of the Obersalzberg was in April 1945. Looking at a diagram of the Obersalzberg Speer's home was far to the left of most of the other buildings so I believe his home was spared to use as a headquarters for the eventual arrival of the Americans.

Thanks for all of the replys. Clenter, I do believe that Sgt. Brady did take some pictures in Hitler's home but I don't have access to them. The seller did say that he had a picture of Brady standing in Hitler's tub. I have a photo album from another US soldier with many original photos of the Obersalzberg taken shortly after the US Army entered the area. One photo has a picture of Goring's bombed house with a couple of Goring's chairs still sitting outside. The only photo in the album of the inside of Hitler's house is inside the great room looking out towards Hitler's giant window. There are many photos of the outsides of many of the buildings. I will try to scan a couple of photos on my new scanner, I havn't used it yet. Mike
