    An Enlisted as well ...

Of course, here is an enlisted version of the M43. Also in stone mint condition. This was purchased from a collector in France who posts regularly on the German Uniforms website --- an advantage of participating in these websites.

      Finally

I will close tonight with a couple of photos of badges.

First of all, a Ground Assault in bullion. Note the contrasting colors in the material. Quite striking.

Some more pics of your superb flight clasps would be nice!?

                For Paul ...

This one is for Paul. A transport in Bronze.

I don't have any other photos of my flight clasps (most are not as nice as the two shown) but I will take some soon and post them.

By the way, folks, I am still looking for a Recon in Silver - Cased, excellent to mint condition. So if someone needs to cut loose of one, let me know.

The Bronze clasps, if in good condition and authentic, are quite beautiful in that the coloring on the clasp is almost a caramel look and quite rich in color. The two Bronzes above are in the best condition I have in that grade, so you can see what I am talking about.

                  Reverse

And the all important reverse ...

Incidentally, for those interested, I am using Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 to edit my photos. I have an old Sony Mavica digital camera which is antique by today's standards. But Adobe does a wonderful job of enhancing these photos. I would recommend it. You can download a trial version at their website and use for 30 days. It's a little daunting at first, but once you learn the "need to know" features, it's fine.

Also, when editing the photos, I reduce them in size to 7 inches wide. That eliminates that really irritating necessity to scroll across the screen to see the photo. It's simple folks --- and a lot easier on the eyes.

                    More Insignia

Since I promised some insignia earlier in this thread, I have featured more below.

The first are photos of the insignia on the Ludwig Keiper uniform. As I mentioned earlier, the uniform was tailored in Paris. However, he was promoted to Generalleutnant during another assignment. Thus, the Boards and Tabs were modified/changed. The tabs are handsewn on the lapels.

The French tailor had a slightly different cut to the lapels --- thus requiring the tabs to be mounted backwards. This is seen in other period photos --- notably one of Hajo Hermann in one of the reference books.

                      Keiper tabs

And here are the tabs on the Keiper uniform I mentioned above. Note the two-tone bullion, a really attractive feature. Keiper had style!

                          Musician Insignia

Next, just one shot of a collection of Luftwaffe Musician insignia ---with the golden-yellow backing. These are quite rare and even though not "combat" related, quite interesting and beautiful nonetheless.

                            Breast Eagles

I have a collection of both the metal and bullion breast eagles as well as some examples of enlisted insignia. Here are some.

One of the aluminum eagles (I think the third one down) is one of those large "A" varieties which is considered fake by some. Jury is still out. The other is a DRGM marked piece as well as "A".

                                Finally ...

I have a collection of collar tabs for the Luftwaffe Engineers -- not quite all --- but not a photo. However, here is a Flieger-Hauptstabsingenieur rank board.

It came from a grouping of insignia, uniform pieces, headgear, and other material named to an engineer, Leo Mai, who resided in Berlin. The CW Officer's visor featured earlier in this thread was part of the Mai grouping. All of the pieces in the group were in mint condition. Never worn during the war and carefully stored by the family since. It was purchased by an American dealer in Germany.
