Bronze Star and Purple Heart are named "Ray E. Taylor". He was a member of the 9th Infantry Div. Sadly I don't know more about him, but as his battle stars and the arrowheads on his EAME-Campaign Medal show he took part in two amphibic landings and fought in three major battles. It seems he was outside the US during the beginning of the war; note the "Foreign Service" clasp on the American Defense Medal.
