    My Humble Beginnings To Collecting

I am new as an association member although I have been reviewing this board for several months. While studying about the war for a number of years I am relatively new to collecting itself. I have been quite careful in defining and seeking the advice of folks and perusing the seemingly inexhaustible fountain of experience on this board and have actually researched three years prior to making acquisistions. My area of greatest concentration is intended to be cloth and badges and medals primarily Schnelltruppen and the GD. Of course and DK in Gold winner uniform is to be fair game as well as can be seen below. I appreciate the help in starting me in this hobby as it has been this place more than any other that has given me the focus and enthusiasm to go forward. I hope you enjoy the small beginnings that I show here and I look forward to sharing much much more in the future as my collection grows.

    GD Panzer Tunic

Some will recognize this piece from Weitze a few weeks ago. I was quick .... and lucky to get the chance to acquire it. This is the panzer jacket of Lt. Busing. Some will recognize the name as he is the son of the General and KC winner of the panzer regiment that was killed in I believe it was 43. In addition to this piece there are documents photos and even his tiger fibel. It has not yet arrived <expected in next couple weeks I will post more of the acoutrements at that time.

          Pz Signals GD uniform

The next piece is LTC of the GD Signals Unit, an acquisition from Bill Shea. This is an interesting piece as the wearer won the RK in the last stages of the war although he was not serving in the GD at the time. He did have the DK in G at that time. Whats also unique about this piece is that he does not wear the GD shoulder ciphers. I believe he was a short-timer to the division and so he never had them placed. All pieces are original and unaltered to the tunic. The awards are merely for show and do not belong to me. Maybe next year the RK <my wallet is screaming already this year>

The next piece is a DK in Gold Winner Col of the Smoke Troops. I liked this because of the unique branch and the high rank. There is a partial name on the tag and I am probably going to research this once I get the piece in my hands <I still owe bill a couple dollars on this one> Again the Medals are for show and not mine.

I hope these do not take long to load and I hope you appreciate my well not so humble beginning to the collecting hobby. I hope to share much more in the future. At the moment I am trying to "creatively finance" a 1 SS panzer black panzer uniform <we shall see> and possibly at the end of the year I will look for the Mecca of GD collecting a black Fuhrer Begleit Kommando Uniform with the GD and Hauptquartier armbands .... Also I want to thank everyone here for all the help in getting me off to I think a pretty good start to the hobby and I look forward to making alot of new friends here.

                            I love the Panzer jacket!

Is this a real item? It looks so clean! I wish I could get one of them but alas I would have to win the lottery first. Is it bad manners to ask you a ball park figure $ for this item.

.... Laughing ... yes Edwin .. god I hope its real ... I didn't just get the Jacket there is also quite a bit of documentation including his award documents photos etc..... since Mr Weitze published the price of this article in his website its not really a secret... I this cost a shade over 8,000 euro for the entire Busing Lot. The others were not inexpensive either. But as many learned persons on this group have said ... one of the better methods is to chase the more pricey stuff.... if its possible... first as its going to rise. I do make as many deals as I can afford. I am fortunate in that I don't have any children which is a significant financial burden and I have means through many side businesses which have allowed me to begin this hobby while not drawing off the money from my primary salary.
