    Collection Database

    Hi everybody,

I wonder how you people keep track of your valued inventory. Are you using computer programs (home made or commercial), are you using the good old paper method or what other innovative methods are out there?

I'm using Organize DeLuxe but I'm not really happy with it.

    Any ideas or comments?

    Thanks,

    Dietrich

Mine is fairly small so just paper right now.

Mainly I just list maker, type of award, if medalbar or single, cased or not, and any other special notes if needed such as if ribbon original or not, etc.

Again mine isn't to large so I can't put a name to a bar or anything so information that needs to be recorded isn't large.

WHEN it gets larger I will do something a little more "professional" either on computer or maybe a binder with pictures and everything.

          Humor

          Marcus,

with your sense of humor, your strong will and determination for the truth (as hard as it was and I feel your pain with you) you will make a great come back and will have a nice collection in the future. We all went thru this and I have already sorted out some peices since I'm a member here. It just makes you appreciate more what one has in real things.

Hello everyone this is my first post as a member here as I am a new arrival from sunny Georgia USA. I actually use Microsoft access to post my information as it makes a very easy trackable database of my information that I can sort easily. Marcus I saw with horror the thread on what happened to you and I can truly say ... I offer my sympathies you are strong. As an attorney I know how harrowing this can be and it shocks the senses that anyone that you had such a long standing relationship with can treat one so callously...

I would like to say, I agree with the comment about MS Access, since it is a database engine, you can make it do and look anyway you want. I use it for my websites and I have found it a great tool.
