    My Small Collection

    Hello everyone.
Almost 5 years ago, when I started in Collage, I began to collect German ww2 military as a hobby.
I had very little money and i used what little money i got for food for military, indeed i did actually loose weight "better than the Atkins diet" :-)
I started off with cool little items like photo, Wehrmacht binoculars, shoulder boards and even the odd helmet etc.
But one day, when i was meant to be paying attention to my lecturer in collage, i spotted a auction for some color film taken by a German soldier.
I was amazed, i never knew this stuff existed.
so i bid and won and got it for 400 dollars.
You never imagined a young student, trying so feverishly to put 400 dollars together :-) i scraped and borrowed every penny i could lay my hand on to pay for the film.
But after that i was hooked.
So working with a lot of great friends all around the world, I have been able to put this little collection together, which I'm very proud of and i thought you guys might like to see.
please god with good health and happiness i will be able to keep enjoying my collection and keep working on it.
I would love to hear any feedback.
    Thanks.
    Ian

          Hi Ian,

Small collection? Why do you say that? ThereĀ“re so many things and so well organized. I like the wooden boxes very much. They give your collection a special touch.

          Regards,
          Adolph.

thanks for the kind words guys !
Im keeping the slides in their original 1930's pine boxes. their very beatiful pieces of woodwork with handmade dovetail joinery. Im thinking of finding a few more period boxes and hosing all my slides in the same box style.
Also im playing with the idea to either search and buy or build a old fashioned wood drawer cabnet, like the old ones that you used to see in the chemists, with the names and wooden handles on each drawer.
I think it would really compliment the collection in a very tastful way.
            what do you think??

Fantastic collection Ian. I have seen some of those images blown up and in my hand and can honestly say they are just incredible. I'll have to knock over to your place one of these nights and have a closer look!
