    Uniform Display Cases - Question

    Hi everyone

This question is for those who have uniform display cases. The ones I am talking about are traditionally the jacket displays in an oversize wall mounted display case.

My question is, how do you hang the item up so that it looks "filled" in the shoulder area and not hanging down the way you normally see it on a hanger.

I need three of these for my personal uniforms. However because of the individual size issues of each they require a custom built case which I am going to do. I just need some ideas on the hanging method. I have seen some mass production pieces with built- in hangers but I don't like the way they look.

I appreciate any thoughts / ideas / or personal construction opinions.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

I'm not exactly sure how you intend to hang your tunics, but I have seen some special hangers at a store display dealer's place that have just the shoulders (similar to those on a suit form), so that the garment looks "filled out" as it hangs. Of course this woud make the tunic several inches thick. Is this the sort of thing that you are thinking of?

Yes, pretty much. I'm building my own cases, so the thickness is not an issue.

I have several shirt / jacket combinations I need to work with so it ranges from waist length (like an Ike Jacket) to a below the waist duty jacket. I was interested in how others might have done there jacket / tunic displays.

What I am trying to avoid is the slouching "hanger" look. I don't know whether anyone has used a commercial hanger with any luck, or if they have devised their own method.

        Hello all,

Anyone have some images of these cases in action?
