He was in the King's Regiment and then the Army Air Corps, which he joined in 7.7.43 according to his Certificate of Service

Nice stuff Jonathan, you just don't stop do you!
I'm on a real go slow at the moment waiting for an SS Dagger.
If you keep this up you're gonna have to open a museum or have a serious chat with the bank manager

                        LOL Ant

Its been slow since about June, had some excess money to burn so i invested heavily in the collection, but to be honest ive got some very good deals and the strength of the pound has also helped a lot. im also on the look for a good Heer/Luft Flak Badge but that will probably take a whole month's budget.

Good to 'see' you around again, hadnt seen you post for a while. Any new additions to your collection?

Hi Jonathan, great to see you still round these parts. Didn't come on here much as i'd run out of money to spend & the e-stand is addictive!
After not buying had a weekend away, found an SA dagger in a shop & suddenyl in a week i buy three SS postacrds, tell myself no more & log on this morning & buy a Wehrpass even though i don't collect them
                          Somebody stop me!
I was interested by the way your collection is going. At first i seem to remember you were buying medals but it seems you're hooked on Wehrpasses & award documents. Is the Heer/Luft Flak badge a sign of another area you're collecting?
                          Ant.

Not really ant. My main thrust in collecting is still docs and WP's, but id like to have one of whatever is possible in terms of medals and award badges. The Flak Badge is just a personal thing as i love the look of the badge, my favourite. But yes you are coreect in your WP and Urkunde assessment. Was your new acquisition a good one? My last Wp was a very good one of a Crimean vet with lots of interesting entries and very researchable. If you need any help deciphering your new Wp drop me a line and ill be glad to help

                            Jonathan

PS If it makes you feel any better you're not the only one in the 'no more' brigade. i promised myself id not buy one thing in July, which i only just managed. what happens the moment i get back from holiday in August? Pay Klaus Butchek a visit and the estand and we're at it again, love it though !!

You're right, it's addictive but so far the most fascinating stuff i've ever collected.
As i'm very interested in Eastern front medals & press photos i've always been interested in having a Wehrpass with a Stalingrad entry. The one i just bought is from the unluckiest (or possibly luckiest) German who seems to have survived from 1939 to 1945 although being in Stalingrad AND Cassino! My Grandfather was in Italy so the Cassino entry made it a must.
Haven't got even the slightest clue about Wehrpasses so thanks for the offer you will definitely be getting pictures to decipher, after all you're a teacher, let's see how your teaching skills are Told the buyer not to post until next Friday though due to the postal strike.
I saw a Wehrpass on the e-stand from someone stationed in Jersey, would have been nice to have but was too expensive for me & sold in a matter of minutes.
                              Ant.

No pain no gain! We're all in the same boat it seems Discovered the charms of estand too recently, yet another trap for my narrow budget!
My interest in Soldbucher & Wehrpasses increases by each day as there are so many interesting and researchable ones available! Considering each and everyone of them is unique, they are not that expensive. Well if I get my first I'll show it and if this isn't any problem I'd ask for guidance from you too Jonathan
