Thanks for the kind words!
There******180;s a few good points for me to collect Brazilian medals - first It******180;s a way to recover part of the history of my country - after many years of dictatorship and military governments not many people here see the military awards with good eyes.
On another hand, most of the medals and awards are very beautiful - in the Imperial era, brazilian awards are similiar in design to some french awards thanks to artists like Jean Baptiste Debret - not to mention the mixture with some Portuguese imperial awards designs...
Final point is the price - It******180;s still possible (not for much time I think) to buy some gorgeous and significant awards for a fair price - especially in comparison of TR awards prices...
My collection is very small, but for a year and a half I******180;m in the right track
Also of note is the fact that here on Brasil is possible to find some really, really big TR collections, but all from people from the old school that don******180;t like/don******180;t use internet. One of these days I******180;ll ask one of this collectors to take some pics and I******180;ll post here. I******180;m pretty sure that many people would not believe in some local treasures
Cheers,
Ricky
