Thought I would add some more to this post...
Here is my double Erel officer's cap. This one is stamped to Panzerpionier Btn 16 under the sweat band.
is a small group attributed to Ltn Werner Hochberger, who went missing during the Bobruisk offensive in June 1944, which occurred over the period of 23-29 Jun 1944 (found through a quick google search). Werner was previously part of the 27th Pionier battalion (which was Panzerpionier after October 1940), and was transferred to the 134th Pionier battalion prior to the offensive (the 134th Pioniers were part of the 134th infantry division that fought during the Bobruisk offensive - more info on the offensive here:
http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=980).
The group came with his cap (not named unfortunately), plus the documents and Austrian annexation medal. Werner was awarded this medal, plus the War Merit cross with swords, plus at least also a sports badge, though as you can see the documents and medals are incomplete. Also are two photos of Werner. The letter went to his wife, stating more or less that Werner went missing and has not been reported as a POW. He presumably perished as he never returned - quite a sad little story.
Next is a pionier NCOs piped tunic for a Spiess. This one is very high quality, and is in quite nice condition.
And my first tunic acquisition for 2011 - which is one that appeared earlier in this thread...
So, any new engineer related gems in folk's collections?
