    badges run from 1918 to 1932. andrew the one you are on about is about $30 just the helmet on its own. the organisation was absorbed latter half 1933 and begining 1934 with over 4.5 million members which concerned some as out numbered the army at that time and with the SA made a very potencially large civil war army if civil war was to occur . interesting to note that may 1933 the nazis party stopped recruiting for short period of time as believed were getting the wrong quality of recruit.

    the badge 1921-32 are 30mm and 1918-1920 35 mm wide

      Thanks for all the information. I really appreciate it. I think they had a higher price tag on it then $30 at the antique shop.

      I'm going to be heading back there soon and I'll see what they are willing to deal on it. It was an interesting little piece, but not having any knowledge on what it was I passed. They also had a few other WWI pieces (including a EK2 and a black WB) so I plan on going back and see what I can do.

        wasn't sure wether to start a new thread but decided not too.
        so here is the latest update of my stahlhelm. as you see changed things slightly while i had some down time off the suffolk murder case over here. i think looks loads better but thats only a personel attitude
