    My panzergrenadier comes together

    Hi Guys,
normally don't show stuff off....but after getting my latest uniform and matching it up with all the right bits and the perfect dummy I stood back and just had to grab a picture of this guy! I am very happy with the result!

Tunic has the original owner's medals...all other bits found elsewhere. Tunic is a "tightened up" M36 tunic dated 1940....medical dressing pocket removed, collar tabs rebacked and resewn (to dress them up when the tresses was machine sewn on) and a nice officer grade breast eagle, so this was obviously a walking out set. Straps are for Oberwachmeister and carry two tresse strips denoting Ofizieranwärter (officer canidate) and also a loop of golden-yellow twist braid on each end, probaby denoting the kompanie (?).

The 73rd Pz Grenadier Regt. (cyphers on the straps) was part of the 19th Pz Division and was formed in 1940...fighting the entire war on the Eastern Front.

I just love it when a uniform and display comes together.

    Cheers, Wade K.

He kinda looks like Feldwebel Steiner in "Das Eiserne Kreuz" - the movie, doesnt he?

Wade-Great display! It's about time I buy something to put my tunics on too!
What type of eagle is on the tunic?

              Hi Guys!
Volkbert, it is a wonderful officer grade hand-embroidered officer eagle on the chest. Extreemly nice and not one of those mass produced type ones.

Don't worry Bart! hahahaha! Have not gone over to the dark-side! Just that he is a panzer grenadier...so fits in my parameters as a Pz related uniform. I also have a Pz Officer's service dress & a pz parade tunic too. Just to have things rounded off. As you know I have had all that "other" stuff before....I will happilly stick with my Pz division stuff!

It just makes my committed to stay with putting everything on full dummies when it comes together like this!
Thanks for all your coments! Cheers, Wade K.

Wade- I thought it was not a mass produced eagle. My infantry nco tunic also has a bullion breast eagle. Good to see more of the combo NCO tunic/officers's eagle.

Thats a great set up Wade!! You should show off more often. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to see your tunics and goodies.

                    Thanks Thomas!
                    glad you like it.

We just had a wonderful baby boy....so it's leaving no time for militaria right now (nappies, nappies, nappies!)....and my room needs a bit of shuffling...so it's all a bit of mess right now. But eventually I might get to the point I can show a few bits off. I don't have a lot of regular feldgrau....almost all my stuff is black or feldgrau wraps....my little passion! hahahaha!

                    Thanks for the encouragement anyhow!
                    Cheers, Wade K.
