German Cigarettetui dug up in Kurland-pocket

    HI!
Wonder about this german cigarettetui found in Kurland when I was there a couple of days ago.
Found near a german soldier probably killed by a sniper.
Anyone seen one like this before? What is the mark at the front?
    Thanks in forward.

How do you know the soldier was killed by a sniper?

                ?

We think he was killed by a sniper.
The etui was found in the same area, maybe not from this soldier but alot of things were spread around. We did not find all the bones as we think he was eaten by some animals. Will have a thread about this digging soon.
Why a sniper? We found his helmet near the remains and it had a bullet hole in the front.

Alpaca is a mark you see on quite a few german WW2 things.
About the bullet hole in the front of the helmet being the sign the soldier was shot by a sniper: .

Another interesting piece found in the forest, a "home-made" schnappsglass

This is really cool I think.
                      Made from a shell.
Found in an area were alot of german soldiers surrender.
Heavily searched but after one hour we ended up with only 2 of these and a couple of coins. No medals this time wich we were hoping on.
The latvian guys had been there before with some medal findings.
