    Hi Lasse!
That's a good collection. Actually it's bigger than mine, but then again I started just a month ago. Where do you buy all this stuff, from Peter?

        Welcome Lasse

I am also new to this web-site, I wish I had found it years ago! One bit of advice while you are still a young collector--do specialize in something. When I was 11, I started collecting and didnt know any better than to just collect any piece of militaria. The result being that I never invested deeply enough in any area to have anything worthwhile, so I ended up with a huge collection of junk from all time periods. It took me several years to realize that in order to have a worthwhile collection that someone would actually want to look at, I had to limit myself to German medals. Wish lists are also a good idea. Make a list of the items that you want to acquire and seek them out! It feels great to buy an item and then cross it off your wish list and see your cases fill up with items that all go together!

Hey guys! Don´t be sad and try to think that "youth is mainly a state of the soul", as the philosopher said
Lasse, you have two wonderful features: youth and great hopes (motivations). Look, collecting this kind of items, trying to "rescue" the history, you´re standing out because of your ilusion. I deal everyday with young people, and sometimes they have nothing but sawdust into their brains, eating the same "alfalfa"...
          Cheers. Óscar

Did cost: around 60 dollars for all.

kids are so lucky nowsaday. When I was a teen, my
allowance was only 5 dimes (50 cents) per day barely enough
for a sandwish and half bottle of coke.

                    IT MAKES ME SICK!

Guys, I saw a magazine a few days ago that turned my stomach. A friend of mine handed it to me, it is some sort of early generic Guns and Ammo from c. 1950. In the back are advertisments for captured German stuff that the govt was selling off for sportsmen. Tons of Greatcoats with insignia, SS smocks, other things labeled "trophy's of war" such as helmets, daggers, medals; and all of it for a few dollars! As the Old Testament dictates, I wrent my clothing, covered my head in ashes and wailed at the city gates all day!!!!
