        Hi to All!

...After this dreaming Weta workshop job realised for that extraordinary exhibition, back on "more usual" things...and to the topic.

In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of 1945 and in accordance with my collection theme; "The 2nd Canadian Infantry Division in Europe during WWII " (the Dieppe Raid on August 19th of 1942 - the liberation of the town on 1st of September 1944 - 1944/1945 Belgium, Holland and Rhineland campaigns), here is a Private of The South Saskatchewan Regiment resting after a long day of progression in enemy territory, with the usual look of a Canadian infantryman in the late 1944, early 1945 ... MKIII helmet, Snow boots and Jerkins (still missing his webbing set under finishing that will be placed at his side as per his Long Branch Sten)

Customized from a John Nissen mannequin base that I just finished, this one will be displayed with around 20/25 other characters (all customized mannequins) related to the theme mentioned above during a large annual exhibition, here at Dieppe, from 15th to 27th of August 2015...for those who could come, you're more than welcome!!! (details on exhibition poster enclosed)

        Best to All!
        Thierry

that is more ten amazing, i have been busy on mannequins, to achive that effect, but it just not that. I wonder if u 'ill use the wrong paint, i trying waterbased modeling paint, but it dries up like a drop in the sand.

stil i wil not give up, since i am at home from an operation fro a new knee and i have a see of time but i cant find the secret of the paint

                    My little project

Very much inspired by beautiful work displayed in this thread, I decided to start my own little project. I would mostly like to thank NZMark, JUBILEE42 and 4thdivision, because they are truly artists. It is great to see everyone has there own distinctive technique.

To practise a bit I started with the hands of my standard Hindsgaul mannequin.
I painted them with model paint.

                        head of the mannequin

The head of the mannequin is not finished yet, but I would like to show some details. I used custom and handmade eyes for this project. For the eyebrowes and eyelashes I used the hairs of a horse and Humbrol precision cement, a pair of tweezers and many hours of patience and concentrated work.
